(It really helped me)-Such a simple thing- a trip to the market! It isn’t an awful chore and painful-the blueberries can be purchased or whatever. I still cut coupons and am careful, but not to the point of giving up what I need or want. And the hospital bills are paid, and I can purchase my medicines, there are many, now thanks to this assistance. I had the double windows put in and now can sleep early or late. The car noise is way down. Very nice indeed! Sounds silly but I can offer to once in a while to pay for my friends or daughter’s lunch instead of the other way around, every time. In closing I must say this has helped me to feel alive and like a person instead of a burden to my children. I’m only 69 and in better health then a lot of people. Now, I can enjoy the days I have left with pride and as much freedom from debt one can ever have in life. I can even be a little wild, if I want to…a weekend trip, or whatever. It’s been quite awhile since you helped me get my reverse mortgage. It’s the smartest move I ever made. Prior to contacting you, I’d mentioned a reverse mortgage to a couple of people including my real estate broker. People’s views were uninformed and suspicious; my broker didn’t know anything about them so advised against it. As usual, I ask people for their opinions, and then do what I want.

I had been in a position where I was unsure how I was going to continue living a life of decent meals, necessary repairs to my condo or, simply, how I was going to go on. I very much wanted to stay in my current home. It had increased in value three-fold, but I could not sell it for I could not afford to move anywhere else!

Now, through the reverse mortgage I have no monthly mortgage payments and a line of equity. Just this week I tapped into the equity to get a Premier walk-in tub. This was a very expensive purchase, but worth every penny for me to be able to safely take a bath, and get the benefit of hydrotherapy at the same time.

To sum it up, you were very informative when we spoke, and you were very helpful in getting me over a few hurdles, and I want to thank you. My daughter has full understanding of where this puts her vis a vis getting this condo on the occasion of my death. (I plan to leave this place feet first.) She is in full agreement with money needed now should be spent now, and wishes the best for me. I became secure and independent!

We chose to get this mortgage to make it possible for us each one to stay in our home, if one of us died. This would have been difficult if either one of us passed away especially my husband. The widows retirement would not have met the monthly expenses.
